"We decided to move to Lethbridge on the spur of the moment. I was able to transfer my Calgary based job to Lethbridge. First step done. We packed everything up in the largest U-Haul and traveled the 2.5 hour driver. We were planning on renting since we didn't believe we could be approved for a mortgage. However we ran into the largest problem you could have when moving to a new city on a spur of the moment: EVERYTHING WAS RENTED!!!! We didn't take into account Lethbridge is a "school-town". "This year, my husband and I started pondering whether or not we would be approved to buy a house. Our first instinct was that there was no way we could get one, as I had just finished paying my student loans off and my husband was still paying his and had just purchased a brand new car.
